Today in English, teacher handed out an article on the use of the “n” word. After reading it, we discussed the contents of the article, during which We promptly fell asleep, as is Our wont. We woke close to the end of the discussion. While We contributed nothing more valuable than suspected snores, We do have Our thoughts…there were people in the article that wanted to ban the word from vernacular and dictionaries. That seemed rather stupid idea…first of all, banning it from the dictionaries would be like denying its existence. The dictionary should a record of all important words and their definitions, and by removing it from dictionaries would be like saying that it never existed, as if you were saying slavery or the Holocaust never happened. This is why it should not be banned in dictionaries. Banning in vernacular would also be nigh impossible to do; it would cost much money and manpower to do that, completely inefficient use of resources. Funding should be poured into more important things, like social services, relieving poverty and hunger, education, health care, all sorts of more important things than regulating the use of a word, no matter how poorly the word reflects on a history. It would be preferable if the word was not used though, as it still is a taboo racial swear; we must attend to this issue sooner or later, but in our current society, there are still plenty of other things that should attended to first.
After this discussion, we read from Huck Finn. Jim’s dialect is nigh impossible to understand…really annoying…
We’ve been racking up a rather annoying and bad cough. Major failing it right there. Allergies are still there as well…sneezing fits suck. Holding back the sneeze then tickles Our nose…leading to eyes watering. That sucks too. Lovely, a reason to hate spring! Now for sure We can definitely say autumn is Our favorite season. Only thing We dislike about it is the start of school during that time. Bleh. Soon enough though, We won’t even have that, We’ll only have an unending slog of a job…adulthood looks to suck…
Listening to: Naoto Ishida, Yumiko Kanki-Death Wind. From the rearrange album for F-Zero. Awesome jazz piece or something.

A list of all work needed to be done:
25 page research paper on why the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan
Author project for English on Stephen Crane and The Red Badge of Courage
Nutrition project for chemistry
Global warming poster for chemistry
Solubility of gas in liquid lab to make up for chemistry
Illustrated quote for graphics
Self-portrait for graphics
While this shit is going down, we have to read Huck Finn. We hate that book. The dialect used in the book takes time to understand, especially Jim’s. Time we don’t have. Schulz also reads the book during class with a “Southern” tone and it’s rather cheesy…
We plan to use pluralis majestatis, “the royal we”, for now. There’s only 3 explanations for a person to use we, we think: pluralis majestatis, multiple personality, or imaginary friends.
Got to get working

Today, one player came in late, so I subbed for him on Team A for a short while. After he got there, I pretty much watched Team A play, played on Team B for a short while as well. Our performance in the tourny shows us one thing: our school is dumb compared to many other schools. Students in quiz bowl seem to be in top classes, yet the other schools outclassed us severely. They often answered before the question ended. Only time a SLHS team won was when we played against our own team; breaking the 100 point barrier against another team was an accomplishment…>>;
Stupid idea right here: get together a bunch of people to play the game of a 1000 Blank White Cards, and we all wear formal wear one day to mystify people asking why the hell are we all dressed up and crap. A club with 2 functions! Perhaps make it secret too…must have the ambition for it…
I have to start on my English author project. First, the biographical paper on Stephen Crane. Reading The Red Badge of Courage for the project, although I can’t find good American classics for the project, it seems. I think I like alternative history and fantasy and science fiction type books, but often they don’t come from Americans or those considered classics. The Red Badge of Courage seems to be the closest thing to good, and it’s still a far shot off.

Today (or yesterday, as it’s past midnight) was a good day. I overslept, so I missed going to the movies for Spider-Man 3 with my friend, but I did go to watch Shrek 3 by myself. The movie was not that great; numerous plot holes, I felt, made it rather poor. What was nice about it was the coconuts being banged together to emulate horse’s hooves, at the beginning of the movie, during Prince Charming’s dinner theater show, a little nod to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Great movie that is.
After returning home for a short while, I went to Relay for Life. I spent most my time there walking around the track with friends. I saw the Miss Relay contest, where drag queens go out and try to get the most donations for cure for cancer. All I can say is:

Most of the cross dressers were men, with facial hair. Completely unconvincing. There was one adolescent that actually effected a woman very well though. I clearly came home early from the relay. Next year, I will try for staying the whole time. It will be very interesting…
Tomorrow: Quiz Bowl Tourny! I’m on Team B, Team B is doomed to fail with me on it. Let the failing it begin!

So, what will you do when the time comes for it?

Everyone at school today seemed rather tired and/or cranky, the people in quiz bowl especially. It’s rather annoying when everyone else is tired and cranky, and you’re actually comparatively awake and not in a poor mood. And then when I get home my computer somehow was fucked up by my dad. Really pissed me off there. I wish he would tell me when he’s going to fuck around with the computer and what he wanted to do so I could set it up for him.

AP tests are over, for this year. There’s only around a month of school left. Time is really going away fast. And even with the testing over, I still have a shitload of work to do, perhaps even more than I had before testing. First, I have a 25 page history research paper on some topic in the 1900-1950 time period. Bleh. We have to adhere to strict formatting, and research, and all sorts of annoying shit. Then I also have some stupid English author project. I’m reading Red Badge of Courage by Steven Crane since American classics suck, or at least that is my opinion. I don’t really hold American authors in high esteem. Classics suck even more. Then I have chemistry, although that work is much less than the other classes. I also have 2 more projects left in Graphics, an illustrated quote, and a self portrait. Wow, it’s coming down really fast.
Listening to: Jesper Kyd-Main Title. Orchestrated main title to Hitman, or so I’ve been told.
b…u…y? what is this “buy”?

I hates electrochem, I hates it so. I don’t know it, it was a mandatory question on the test. That really fucking sucks. It was good thing last minute i remembered how to finish off the last part of the equilibrium problem. I hope. Multiple choice was not bad, although I did have to rush to finish it at the end. I’m relying on it to boost my marks up.
I made a fool of myself trying DDR on a pad. Good god I am horrible at rhythm games. Prior to this, I had never played DDR, but then again, I also suck at Elite Beat Agents, so…
Listening to: Arash-Boro Boro(funky sunday remix). Haha, here is the song. It’s not what I listen to, really, it’s rather funny to me though. It’s somewhat nice too. It’s easier to laugh when you don’t understand. Oh, and the webcomic is top rate too.
Run, run, run, don’t stop, don’t stop for the queen, don’t stop at an inn, just run, sleep where you drop, and hope that there is a next morning. Otherwise, hope it ends soon.

So, I took the APUSH test today. They are amazingly stringent, and unnecessarily so. We are not allowed to disclose multiple choice questions, EVER. Who the fuck does that? Clearly, only most stupid are actually going to do that. The multiple choice test wasn’t as bad as the ones in class, although I did have my stumbling points. Overall, I felt I did fine on the multiple choice. Definitely the saving grace of that test >_<.
I have shit handwriting. Good god I have shit handwriting. The essay portion looks like inkblots. The essay was on farmers, which I don’t have much of a good grip on. The first choice questions I did both and chose the one on early rebellions, since I don’t remember much about the Second Great Awakening. Last one was easy though, TR. I just hope they can read my shit and that I didn’t confuse any events and facts. Hope to get a three, since with my shit essays I can only hope for that high.
Now, for that AP Chemistry test Tuesday…

Blog 81. So, tomorrow, AP Calculus test. Not for me though. Its for the majority of my class, since they’re taking the class, unlike me, who took Calculus AB at Laney during last summer and promptly forgot most of the stuff. So, I will be entering nigh empty classes tomorrow, at least for history, chemistry, and english. What we’ll do in History will be interesting, as well as bad…the teacher will only have a few of us to shoot down…

This is delicious cake. You must eat it.

That’s right, its fucking allergy season for me. When my nose becomes a veritable river of mucus, flowing freely at time, and completely clogging up at others. Violent sneezing fits, itchy watery eyes, and generally pissiness. God I hate allergy season.
I did not touch any homework last night until 4, and I was able to stay calm and cool. I amaze myself with my stupidity at times.
