Or at least, that’s how you write in Chinese (I think, my skills SO bad), no idea about Kanji >>;. But you know, the two are pretty much the same, excepting some things, I think, like red, for some reason it’s different from the Chinese one, or perhaps the one used is also in Chinese, but rarer or something. Just me being an idiot here.
But so, today, I went to Japantown. Nothing like Chinatown, it’s clean, has monumental structures (haven’t seen much of those in Chinatown, to my recollection), has a big mall (hey, none to my knowledge really in Chinatown), and the people there speak Japanese. >>;. We walked there from Civic Center station, so I got me my firsthand glimpse at the building (live so close, but don’t remember ever going there). So there, we walked around the mall, but not before having a good LONG look (no Elvin, the focus was not because of p3n0rZ, but because we did spend a lot of time in there futzing around) at the swords store (not really a sword store, there was other stuff too-but it was the swords that were exhibited the most). They had SO many swords, once I turn 18, I am so totally going there to appropriate me one of them. Maybe a nice rapier, really ornate hiltguards, if they can be called such to guard >>;. The pirate sword was nice too, as was the Chinese Tai Chi sword. For all points and purposes though, all the swords were awesome >>;.
After that we went around to look at other stores, nothing much else as interesting really, besides some store with a bunch of Nintendo video game stuffies, among other things. The bookstore was interesting, plenty of Kanji to try my hand at reading and seeing if I remembered my Chinese (fail right there big time). There were some rather questionable materials downstairs too, in paper form and plastique figurine form as well, as Elvin can attest to (hehe, liked them any? especially that WHOLE wall of yaoi, you know you did >>;).
Lunch was at some place “Mifune”, and of course, Japanese cuisine. I got some Tanin Donburi, I think, some sort of Donburi though. Beef and egg over rice=awesomeness. The rice I like better than the stuff at home a shitload. I rather kept on committing faux pases by hinting at a variety of socially unacceptable topics at the table. Something like that. That stuff flows out of me like shit, which is so inappropriately appropriate, and such. So, Liz bought a crepe after, was interesting to see what it was, apparently it’s just some ice cream cone with a heated cone made of some material other than waffle. Nothing exciting, to me, at least.
We then went to some Japanese supermarket, which somewhat reminded me of a Chinese one, not too much of a difference, I suppose. I totally splurged on candy, 1 stick of grape fruit chew, 1 bag of grape gummis, and 1 bag of milk candies, and 1 bottle of C. C. Lemon, which by the way the Simpsons did a commercial on and is truly awesome tasting and carbonated and such. I truly lack self-control, the whole pack of grape chew is dead, as is most of the gummi bag @_@.
Shit…I also tried Blackblack gum, which is an apparently strongly (perhaps no? eh) caffeinated gum, with a “Hi-Technical taste”. Truly the taste can be best described as such, because it’s rather undescribable. It is strongly minty though, although the other flavours experienced are still incomparable to others really. Didn’t really do much of a difference though caffeine-wise. Nothing really does, it seems.
Serene bought me a pencil. It is a very nice pencil, and it has a very nice grip. It is mechanical, and uses .5 lead, I believe. Of course, this feels like some sort of prod to start using pencils instead of pens, which are the awesomeness when it comes to writing utensils, but not to worry, I have Scantron tests to take. >>;
Note I have failed at socialness again. We all know how. Good night now…
