Yeah, that pretty much described my day. For some reason, today went particularly auspiciously, especially after that hell of a night I just had to go through to finish some essay that will guarantee be limited to a B because I didn’t do a peer review >>;. While the English teacher noted my absence that Thursday because I didn’t have a paper for peer review so I decided to stay home and work on it (really, didn’t help much >>;), I learned I didn’t miss much – we read out our midterms in front of the class, from what I heard. And apparently I was supposed to read mine >>;. But, I wasn’t there so…bullet dodged, I guess >>;. Teacher said I got a good grade or some crap like that? I, of course, didn’t believe it, and I was right. B-, on par, eh? I’m going to redo it for a better grade or extra credit or something to that effect >>;. The rest of the class went smoothly, reading stuff from the anthology.

Religion, we spent the whole class discussing Prop 8, there was one kid against gay marriage for religious reasons, and so it was quite interesting listening to his defense, and the professor’s defense. The topic for the day was Daoism – the basic idea is to let events take their natural course, because that’s how nature intended it to be, and thus, is good. We also got our multiple choice quiz back from the last Thursday. 74/100, it made me inordinately happy, since I seem to do well on multiple choice, and it’s been a while >>;.

I had lunch at some Chinese fast food place in Chinatown. I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that Chopsticks Express is x1 bajillion zillion times better, with more flavor, and looking a bit better that the stuff offered in that joint >>;. Cheaper as well >>;. Only thing that was good about the place was they had soy sauce chicken, which I strongly like, and haven’t had in a while. Really not worth it though, considering everything else was rather crappy >>;. After that, I went to the library to study. I was able to cover nearly everything I wanted to cover, so I’m happy. The only thing I couldn’t get was something about the American creed and the four types of something >>;. It was a bonus question anyways, so meh. I was unable to find some article I needed on the internets though, so I rushed back to the Laney Library to find the article in the reader for the class. And digested the material. Hopefully I can pull out an A with this test, like I did last time. Certainly didn’t feel that bad at the end >>;.

On the way back to class I bought a Monster, since I slept only around 4 hours last night. I drank it in class. Either that energy drink is a pussy, or caffeine has no effect on me >>;. Unless you’re supposed to yawn after drinking it, I don’t know >>;

Town House crackers are really good. I must remind myself to get more in the future.

And my DS is serving as a pretty good backup mp3 player right now, since my old iAudio can’t hold a charge for shit, dies way too early, and the audio dies every so often, so I need to turn it off and then turn it back on again. Which wastes more batteries. Which means that it dies even earlier. It really is a piece of shit now >>;.

Diluted Freedom

So, for the last week, my parents went to Florida for vacation. This was a week after they went to Las Vegas for two days or so, so a week and some worth of time at home alone. Which is wonderful, they didn’t bother me about staying up late, not sleeping enough, too much time watching TV or not doing homework or not eating on time, etc. And I can talk to myself without interruptions. He’s a lot better to talk to. After all, there’s no one to talk to, pretty much. So what have I learned?

I can’t cook omelets. I burnt the bottom of the one I tried to make, while the top was still liquid >>;.

I can make better buttered toast with the fry pan than the toaster. Butter is spread more evenly over the piece, on both sides.

I like being able to play music on the computer while I sleep.

TV is nice.

Unchecked anger leads to rage. Unchecked rage leads to violence. Unchecked violence leads to death.

Shoot ‘Em Up. WATCH IT. Wee, violence.

Crappy

In addition to today’s crappy long schedule, I get to suffer from a cold/flu thing as well. Last night was pure crap, I was unable to stay awake or fall asleep because I was suffering from a fever, and so I couldn’t get any of my minority studies work done, essentially. I came back during my break between classes, but I needed some sleep…and I woke at 5. I thought that would be enough to get at least ONE essay done, but of course not, my stomach had to act up at the perfect time and take away that last half hour I had to get shit done, and instead I was getting done in by shit. Really messy shit. So all in all, day was shittier than other Tuesdays. And not just literally >>;.

My stomach really just won’t stop acting up…

Minority Studies

It sucks, every Tuesday night I go there to be bored out of my mind. The stuff we learn there is important for interaction with others, especially for those people political science or stuff, but it really doesn’t interest me at all >>;. Many of the other students there have strong opinions and voice them out during class, so we’re rather behind on material apparently >>;. It’s more of a discussion class than a lecture class, but I really don’t have much to contribute seeing as I don’t find it very interesting. Most of the issues in class revolve around African Americans…I think, I keep on falling asleep >>;.

Amusingly, the girl next to me today was nodding off while taking notes before the test >>;. I feel usurped…

Today was the first test in the class. I clearly failed it, seeing as it was an essay test. We had 4 questions, 2 were mandatory, and 1 of the other two we had to pick. She made the mandatory questions the ones I wasn’t sure on ><. Yes, I am quite the lucky one. I also have that crappy handwriting, which hasn’t improved, as usual >>;.
