Tuesday Afternoon

March 31, 2009

I go to my table on 3rd floor, I pull out my crossword, I fall asleep because of exhaustion, wake up to find my hands have fallen asleep, shake them out, drink some water, and then go back to sleep resting on one arm instead of two. I then proceed to alternate arms when one falls asleep. And that was my afternoon for 3 hours or so. I didn’t get crap done. So tonight I study for my history midterm.

Spring break was wonderful, I got to hang out with Elvin and Richard and Charles and Shannon and I can’t think of much more…small group, yeah. I went to SF and Berkeley and Target and SLHS and Richard’s house and so, nothing much out of the ordinary. Well, beyond the fact that I’m going out for nonacademic reasons and social reasons. And now, back to my crosswords and my hole and my classes and Berkeley.

And I really need to start the process of sending in my MP3 player…

Some Berkeley Stuff

March 11, 2009

Damn, I hate it when I feel like I forgot something that I remembered earlier to do that I forgot even earlier.

Large line of people waiting down Bancroft today, no idea what that was about. I’m rather out of touch with everything.

So, while I sat outside 4 Evans waiting for Math discussion to start, I was reading the Rape of Lucrece by Thomas Heywood for English History. Rat bastard wasn’t famous enough when he was alive or dead, so Sparknotes doesn’t have his play all nice and accessible to the everyday John Doe >>;. Moreover, Shakespeare wrote a poem with the same title as well, which DOESN’T HELP, NO. But hey, it’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be, it was rather digestible. I might actually finish reading this piece, it’ll be awesome if I do >>;.

While sitting outside 4 Evans, there was some Korean dude using his laptop. How’d I know he was Korean? He spoke what presumably was Korean on the phone, and it didn’t sound like the other stuff that he most likely might have been >>;. He was also clicking rapidly with the mouse. I’m guessing Starcraft >>;. So very stereotypical, how horrible of me >>;.

I got a B on my first paper for English History! I am very happy with it >>;. I thought I would do worse. Naturally.

Oh, and happy birthday Elvin!

Losing my Shoe

March 7, 2009

So, today, in a hurry to get onto the Richmond train, I lost my shoe, like the title indicates. Isn’t that just wonderful, walking up the escalator and at the last few steps stepping out of your shoe? Of course, I only have myself to blame for this, since pretty much never tie my shoe after the first month of owning it since I can slip my foot in and out of  my shoe easy enough by then. I was able to retrieve the shoe quickly and put it back on the train though, so I didn’t have to go about Berkeley looking like I was mentally deficient or something >>;.

Of course, I had to curse when my foot touched metal instead of a shoe sole, nothing else quite conveys the necessary emotion and shock >>;. And it’s in my nature anyways, eh?

School has been school, there was an Essay for Early Modern English History due last Monday, naturally, I only got one hour of sleep there >>;. Beyond that, the class is a lot of reading, and reading is annoying for me, which is no good thing. Chemistry has been rather simple, but what can you expect, it’s supposed to be a review course for me since I forgot everything >>;. We did learn hybridization and molecular orbitals, that’s some new stuff, I think I understand that stuff now though. We were supposed to learn the stuff by ourselves for the AP test, but me being me, I didn’t much give it a glance >>;. Naturally, lab’s been annoying, because I suck at lab, I usually end up spilling some organic compound all over my hands each lab or so that involves one. I got a 76/100 for my first math midterm, by God is that subpar >>;. The test was curved, but I went much too slow on the test, I realized the last problem and how to do it much too late. Could have been much better, but whatever, that’s past. And of course I have trouble talking in the damn seminar about evolution, because it’s me, I don’t like to talk to people and crap. I’m off to fail that one…

Naturally, I’ve been antisocial to the max. I know like…2 new people? In that they’ve said hi to me out of class, pretty much. Beyond that, I’ve been pretty holed up. I spend my free time at Berkeley sitting somewhere outside the classroom/inside the classroom if empty doing crosswords and with hope, doing homework. Crosswords are wonderful, I say…quite interesting.

Off to a stellar start, are we?

Listening to: T-Square-Midnight Circle, from the Casiopea vs. The Square Live, it looked pretty awesome on Youtube, so I was motivate to obtain the whole thing for my personal viewing pleasure. However, the problem is, 0 seeds and 97.5% done >>;. It makes me go sigh…although I was able to find an .avi of the first disc and an mp3 rip of the dvds, so it’s not all bad.
