The Week in Review

May 30, 2008

I have been quite lazy this week! Spending lots of time playing Age of Empires III and watching ‘Allo! ‘Allo!, bad Gary >>;.

Monday was Memorial Day. I stayed at home, procrastinated, and rushed my lab report in the dead of the night.

Tuesday I then was told that the lab wasn’t due until Thursday. This will probably be the only time you will find me having done my work before the night before it’s due >>;. But, work was done, which was surprising, and for the best, since I had an essay to do that night from Gov, some stupid DBQ about the First Amendment in the school environment. However, I didn’t check if my lab completely printed out correctly. I think I may have run out of colour ink, as my graph didn’t come out ><. I had to reprint the graph at school…*sigh*

So Tuesday was the last concert of the year, last concert for the class seniors, and as Mr. Glover the conductor is retiring, his last as well. So, while I was planning on going home with Richard to work on the magazine, I didn’t, since we kind of volunteered (well, more like Mr. Doan volunteered us, but we were fine with it) to help the other kids finished up the gel electrophoresis lab. So we helped destaining the gels, and ended up staying there until the concert. I put trance onto the nice sound system Doan has, and that was awesomeness. Then, Richard and I met with Elvin downstairs, then went to the concert. It was doubtless awesome. I strongly liked the St. Paul song, The Nearness of You, i believe, which was a jazzy piece the orchestra played, and some song with some red rose and “Luve”, which had an awesome violinist kicking ass >>;.

After the concert, Richard and I stayed behind, picked up recyclables, and forgot our stuff in Elvin’s car while he went to drop off Serene home >>;. And, he forgot to turn his phone off silent. Awesome time I had having to go home, IM him, then have him come over so I could claim my stuff and guide him to Richard’s place. While Richard’s parents were pissed off, mine I think were too tired to care >>;. But, it wasn’t too bad for me, Elvin drives awesomely, and AC/DC came on the radio with HIghway to Hell! Overall, I had a better time at that night than I did prom night >>;. I have to say, the choice of music that night was MUCH more preferable to the stuff I heard at prom. While Daft Punk and What is Love are awesome songs, that’s only two songs. A night’s worth of trance and classical stuff beats the shit out of the rest of the night >>;.

Wednesday, we finished off the lab, were confused where the bands end and begin (I think I saw more than they did, but they only saw three, and I thought we needed more…well shit >>;). Then I ripped the gel apart, woo! >>;. Recycling also went smoothly, for the most part, there were lots of people this time!

Thursday, all was a blur. Probably wasn’t anything much important, yeah?

Friday, I came in REALLY late to second block >>;. Like, 10:15, say? And there, I did a whole lot of nothing >>;. I signed Ms. Larson’s picture of her 3rd block class (I think it was 3rd >>;) and a card for her. Then we went to visit Ms. Larson. She looked so much more happier and healthier. It has been quite a while since I have seen her. She forgot my name, thought I was “Paul”, Roger’s brother >>;. Great…I think she did that before as well >>;. I also collected a bunch of hours sheets…I was supposed to go to CSF, but eh, majority of the people were in Larson’s room anyways visiting, so I was able to get a good amount of them >>;.

During Gov, we had nothing to do. Elvin took the time to draw an epic picture on Smart’s blackboard, with some ideas from me and some drawing input from Richard. It looked…epic >>;.

After school, I went to Quiz Bowl. It had been quite a while since I went; the week before was prom, before that was other stuff, so it was about 3 weeks since I’ve been to a meeting. Sophia actually played in a game this time! And an older member came to visit as well. After that, I went to eat dinner at Hometown Buffet, for the Interact incentive dinner…I haven’t done much these past months, and I feel poorly for that, and somehow I still made it…>>;. I am thankful though that I was able to go, free food is always awesome, and I ate lots and lots and lots…the clam chowder was awesome though. And dipping bread into it was awesome as well. And the chicken and dumplings shit, I think dumplings are just bread >>;. But, it still was awesome. Salisbury steak was good, as well as the seafood macaroni salad. I came out quite full with a distended belly…while usually I am unable to eat very much at buffets because of my poor luck to be not very hungry when going, this time, I didn’t eat lunch and thus had the stomach for it >>;.

On a side note, I saw Mr. Clark right outside our banquet room eating alone. ;_; Where’s that Korean fiancee of his I remember him talking about? >>;

And now I’m here, being lazy, as usual >>;. I have a magazine project due this coming week on Monday. And shut up. It’s for the greater good >>;.

West Side Story

April 27, 2008

The tournament went poorly, ranking in at 2nd, 2nd, and the 3rd. Oh well. They started the tournament much too late though, at 6? Urgh. College Preparatory School is a very nice looking campus, the buildings there reminded me of ski lodges and cabins. The whole place was very green, although they didn’t have any sports fields besides some grassy ditch with soccer goals. Not a very sportsy school, i assume? The classrooms were itty-bitty; the room we competed in had around only 15 seats. The desk-chairs were nice too, they went up and down and you could lean back a bit. To have those chairs at school…

Tonight I went to see West Side Story. My only musical that I saw in high school, perhaps the only musical I will ever see, I suppose. I like some of the tunes. I didn’t care much for the dancing and such. And no proper gangster would be caught breaking into song and dance like they do. Unless they were asking for a beating. And of course, I made plenty of disturbing inappropriate comments >>;. On their knees for Officer Krupke, hehe…

Listening to: The Smashing Pumpkins-Tonight, Tonight. I like the song. I hate the vocalist >>;.

Unexpected

April 23, 2008

Today, I found a glass Coca Cola bottle during recycling! Another bottle for my glass bottle collection! >>; Which is now 1 Ramune bottle and 1 glass cola bottle that I didn’t drink out of >>;. I didn’t think the glass Snapple or glass Martinelli’s bottle worth keeping. Besides that, there was some lady from Earth Team that was videotaping us recycling and interviewing us about what we did. Highly unexpected…we stayed in a big group (not that our group was big from the start for today), and then split later…so our progress was a bit slower today.

Speaking of unexpected things, I have a quiz bowl tournament tomorrow at CCS…I wasn’t aware of the lunch meeting that I needed to go to because no one listens to the announcements >>;. Not me, at least, seeing as I was walking into class at the time >>;. It will take a long while though for the tournament…it starts at 6 >>;.

And now…begins play time…

So Lazy

March 29, 2008

Too lazy to update blog in the past couple of days ><. Yep I’m a horrible person. I’ve been going out a lot this spring break in comparison to the last couple I think. I’ve been to the area around Bayfair around what, 4 times? this week.

So Wednesday I went to Japantown with some friends. Sophia wanted Elvin to help buy her a sword since he was 18, but he wasn’t allowed to bring ID in the form of a passport >>;. But we went in to the sword store anyways…I wonder why swords seem so cool? Because they can cut people up? Because they’ve been depicted in an appealing fashion in fiction and media? Or just because? Personally, I think swords are cool because of influence from fiction >>;. Well, inside the store, the TV was playing Big Trouble in Little China, although the name escaped me at the time. I remember reading about the movie, but I haven’t watched it before. And I saw a sign saying “wafu” outside some restaurant. Lol, like “waifu” >>;. After lunch at Mifune, we went to the market, and I got a box of “Pansy Pocky” (say it in a deep MANLY voice >>;), which is a small box of strawberry Pocky. I don’t believe I’ve ever eaten Pocky prior to that…or at least I don’t remember it >>;. I also bought a bottle of Ramune Drink! Those bottles are so cool, with that glass marble thing you press down to drink it, although content inside is a bit…small. However, the bottle is so worth it, I’m collecting that crap >>;. After we got back to SL, Sophia and Liz went home while Elvin and I decided to ride around…to Fremont, then to Dublin/Pleasanton, then to Bayfair, where Elvin wanted to go to Michaels to look for sketching material, I suppose. Then I had my dad drive us home, since it was starting to rain. And the smell of wet tar sucks ass.

Yesterday, I was woken by the call of Elvin who wanted to go to my house? Yeah, didn’t exactly expect that. I had plans to work. Of course, those were thrown to the side of the road (bad Gary). For breakfast, I undercooked bacon (my cooking sucks to hell) and put it on rice. Then we stayed at my house while I was waiting for Richard to respond (he wasn’t home, but he wasn’t idle). Then we walked off to Bayfair, with Elvin being indecisive about food. I actually don’t know why we were headed there >>;. At any rate, we went back to Elvin’s house and played Brawl ^_^. Wolf is fun to use, and his forward smash smacks of awesomeness >>;. Then Elvin cleaned himself up, and we headed for my house, I put on semiformal clothes (I look like an idiot in them. I hate them >>;) and went off to International Night.

International Night was an interesting affair…most of the people I know in Interact were working or doing special stuff, so it was a good thing Elvin was there so I had company…sadly Sophia could not make it. There were goldfish in bowls on the table as centerpiece-thingies, which took me a while to actually realise ><. The food I felt was a tad paltry, but since they were running on donations and such, it probably couldn’t have been helped. The show had lots of singers and dancers, including those break dancers that performed at Unity Day. Same song too for at least the first song >>;. Their acrobatics however remain awe-inspiring, if only for the point that I can’t do them >>;. The best part however was the Chinese yoyo person, even if he made a couple of mistakes, his act overall was the most impressive. However, there were some rather unpolished acts, or at least one in particular: apparently the singer of A Thousand Miles was off-tempo and rushing the pianist along. Elvin’s ears are better than mine, so I’m going by his >>;.

I have so much work left. Fucking a. Barely any bio work done, and then the other stuff I have to deal with >>;. Lovely.

Listening to: the sound of my keys rattling on my keyboard >>;.

You know how Jackson Pollock came up with his art?

The Surface

March 18, 2008

The night, I enjoy it, walking through it listening to my music. We went to Nation’s, and I trod home in solitude, enjoying the walk.

Today we had the winter tournament for BAAL (yeah, it’s spring, I know, but poor scheduling and such messed up the season and stuff >>;), and we won our two of our games, and finishing second in the other game. It was a tad…surprising, seeing as we usually lose against other from experience. The people from Mira Loma were very charismatic and social…something I don’t do >>;. And they came from Sacramento, from what I hear? That’s far >>;. Very far.

Ski Trip

March 10, 2008

I’m not in the mood to work on anything, GAHHHHH!

The Interact Ski Trip, it happened from Friday to Sunday. I haven’t been up to the cold snow and mountains in a long while, but things happened like I thought…well, the headache part, at least >>;.

We left for the mountains around 6, Friday night, and we played Mario Kart during the ride. We had 7 DSes in the van, so it was quite a large game. However, I got motion sickness a bit so I stopped playing. Good thing we stopped at some Wendy’s midway, otherwise I would have been VERY uncomfortable. Apparently it’s a tradition to flood that very location of Wendy’s with Interactors every year. After junk food, ride continued until around 10. The ride was REALLY bumpy, going and coming back, as well as winding. There were points where we came to a hump in the road where we couldn’t see beyond the hump but sky…I hate those. Crappy country roads, I really don’t want to ride those roads again…we got to the BIG cabin of Ivan’s, who is the Rotarian who seemed to have organised the thing? Eh, I don’t know, he seems to run the show though. There were 3 levels, one of them underground, that being the game room (pool table, a shelf full of board games, chess table, poker stuffs, large ass TV, etc.). The first level had a kitchen and a living room with a fireplace, which seemed to be on very often >>;. The second level had bedrooms and the carpet up there was comfortable enough to sleep on. I didn’t stay there to sleep though, even though I’m pretty sure there’s room enough for everyone to stay there >>;.

The cabin I stayed at was much less opulent than Ivan’s lordly cabin. It was golf themed: there were pictures of golf, statuettes of golfers, golf trophies, golf clubs, a small shelf of golf balls, among others >>;. We played Monopoly until around 1 or so, and I slept badly in a recliner. They apparently aren’t as comfortable to sleep in as I thought >>;.

We woke around 6 and rushed to get ready. We woke early because we had to get to the ski resort early…and of course I held us back because I forgot the money needed to pay for skis, as well as suntan lotion >>;. I wanted a shower, but time was pressing…we rushed to the big cabin for breakfast (muffins and cereal? Is it actually filling? I like rice, it’s filling >>;. Is that really the usual breakfast for people?) Then we went off to Bear Valley Ski Resort, where a couple people decided not to snowboard because it was felt hard in comparison with skiing. Those people included me, so we decided to go pay for a skiing lesson package. Sidestepping for some reason don’t work for me…I think I’m placing my weight on the side of my feet, but I’m not? Eh, I don’t know anymore. Instructor liked to yell…apparently like Lebe. I apparently got a bit better at the end and was able to slide down a gentle slope without much incident…feet were really tired afterwards (no stamina as usual) and in pain (goddamn things are way too tight around lower legs) and so turned in my skis for lunch, which cost 9 dollars for a burger and a drink. Fucking expensive goddamit. Then I just hung around the lounge waiting for everyone to finish off. Lots of butthurts that day apparently…I had headhurts though, though I am thankful that it occured after most of the skiing so I only had to endure during lunch and after. Just like last time I went, except I had it before I went skiing so the skiing itself sucked ass.

We went home, cleaned ourselves up, went to big cabin for pizza dinner (Round Table, there’s a store right in front of the mountain maze), played Charades (I liked my idea of Ken Masters, you’d be doing Ryu’s motions since they have same moves pretty much, but Ryu is the wrong answer…), interrupted by adults returning for talent show (some very skillful performances, and others…less so >>;. Brave of them all though) and went home. We waited for pizza by watching Women of Ninja Warrior, which is women going through an obstacle course that very few can complete…both balance and speed are needed to completely clear the course. The big point seems to be women falling in water though, since it’s very frequent that it happens.

Sunday we went off to the snow park (golf course covered in snow, essentially). The snow was hard, uneven, and my snow boots had no grip ><. I spent half of it making snowballs for the purpose of making them, then attacking people that attacked me (yeah, totally backfired on me, asses), then spent the rest of my time there bleeding my nose out. People told me to hold my head forward, then others told me to hold it back, then others told me to hold it neutral. Some told me to pinch my nose, others told me ice my forehead, some told me to drink water. Sadly, since I only have so many hands, I put one hand to use holding tissue into the nose, and another hand to hold tissues/pinch nose. I must thank Judy for holding ice to my forehead though…how nice of her ^_^. I seriously need to know what posture my head should be in…I’ve always held head back/laid down and they all ended quicker than this nosebleed. What’s so dangerous about swallowing blood? After the bloody debacle, my hands were covered with blood (yeah, I murdered something) and my face looked like I dived into a corpse or some such >>;. I cleaned off most of it, buried the bloody snow, and went back to cabin to clean selves off. We then had lunch, packed, and went home.

I still have work to do…and I fell asleep. This is great, you know?

Listening to: Joe Hisaishi-Lady of Spring.

Titled

January 17, 2008

Fell asleep before finishing work, and I had to wake up again…so it was NOT a normal sleep. Oh well, wasn’t a bad sleep at all, of course. I finished The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett in Gov and then went over the tests. English we actually had a “final”, but the essays felt absolutely horrible…so I have a B in English pretty much locked in. Gov, I have an 89.3…good god the suspense ><. Homework packets stand to bring me down…

Afterschool, I didn’t want to go home yet, so I went to D&D instead, had fun controlling an army of hill giants with Elvin, though we fucked up controlling them so badly…>>;.

Dad is nagging me about staying out “late”, and not going home. I want to shut him up ><. I don’t see how the people in Robotics are able to stay out to 8 and not have parents up their alley trying to cut their heads off.

Hurrrrr. Physiology final tomorrow, should be a breeze, and no bio final, so that’s cleared. After that, an Interact event…then we will see the future then.

Quiz Kids Redux

January 12, 2008

Ah, really shouldn’t be here…I’ve only half a page for my thesis…shit. But, it has been another long while since my last post, I suppose…

So, today, our little show of Quiz Kids aired to broadcast to the world abroad our total slaughter, and Menlo-Atherton or something’s complete pwnage. I, as usual, not photogenic, looked poorly, and did some really stupid shit…When I look back at our performance, some questions were SO easy, and yet we MISSED, ARGHHHHH! While we were above the others at the beginning, we began to fail in the 2nd round, and in the 3rd, completely were buried under a volley of answers from the opposition T_T. Reaction time really needs to be UPPED ><. And that interview bit sucked for me, because as we all know, nothing’s going to come of that but embarrassment, and nothing more.

And now…back to work…been a rather shitty weekend, I highly doubt this shittiness will lift itself from me.

And wow, it’s been 2 months since I got the cube…seemed shorter/longer/time’s a bitch!

Listening to: Queens of the Stone Age-Go With The Flow.

hehe, “weaponless”

No Anchovies

December 28, 2007

I went ice skating last night with Octagon, seeing as its the morning now…

It seemed as if everyone backed out except for five kids. Bleh. We were supposed to go with Revelant (I don’t even know wtf the club name is anymore…the former Airborne Christian club thingy>>;), but they backed out as well, and so it was only 5…it was nice though, not having to put up with hordes of people in the rink, last time we were moving around like anchovies (I think that’s what they were), as I remember them from Monterrey Bay Aquarium, there was a room, and the anchovies were in a circular tank about the circumference of the room, above the doorways out. They moved in a uniform direction…people at the rink ALWAYS move anticlockwise though, for some reason. You never turn right, always left…

Bit late for going to Oakland though >>;. Apparently the time was set by the head of the other club? He hasn’t been to Oakland at night then, I’m guessing >>;. A rather shifty place to be hanging around at night…I would rather wake early at around noon (yeah, normal sleeping for me is about 4am-2pm >>;) than have to deal with Oakland at night, really, must more preferable.

Apparently, I was the one who caused ANYONE to go at all, Sophia going because I went, as well as Shannon, who dragged along Charles and Shannon…and as such, I claim the blame that caused them ALL to go, and as such, I’M THE LORD OF EVIL AND ASSHOLERY. >>; But hey, I enjoyed it. I should go ice skating at least once every winter or something…keep my ability intact >>;.

Listening to: The Killers-Bones.

Concentrations

December 23, 2007

Voice 1: Give up?
Voice 2: Too much time has been wasted on it…
Voice 3: STFU TRYING TO SLEEP HERE

I suppose my birthday had too much niceness concentrated in it, the days after that rather sucked…general crappiness and all…

Wednesday after recycling I went to some Santa viewing and marionette show thing at the library to help out, I suppose that was nice, although the show was rather “WTF?” and more of a skill exhibition in my opinion. The players were skilled, but I couldn’t really tell WTF was the whole thing trying to get at. And no idea where the hell “North Pole” fit into all this, as it was the “North Pole Revue” or something >>;.

People wanted me to do some stupid crap involving dancing, and frankly, I don’t want to dance. I find it stupid, and I already had to deal with line dancing in middle school, and I don’t want to have to deal with that shit again, thank you very much. Not only that, but the music dancing to was aurally atrocious as according to me. I feel Soulja Boy sounds like a boor, or at least that song sounded like idiocy to me. I am certain that some of my brain cells have just died listening to that shit.

Aside from that shit, the talent show was ok, I suppose. Most awesome was Larry and Jennifer’s little Kingdom Hearts presentation what with the Sephiroth killing and such…pure pwn right there. Roger’s card throwing was quite awesome too, and as such I will try that insanity out. Julian and Jeremy’s Sport Utility Champion Kompanion (SUCK) was quite the amusing routine, and was really funny. Serene and Sophia did some duet, that was interesting, though their unpracticedness showed up quite clearly >>;. Allen’s 5×5 cube took the thunder away from Cindy and Genevieve’s cake baking, which was rather funny, but the cake was awesome. Tommy told us how to break a Masterlock code (but I forgot it all T_T). The rest of the people did something along the lines of origami or just didn’t stick out. Unoriginal >>;.

Me and Elvin (yeah, SCREW YOU GRAMMAR *bowfingers*) first went up to race with Rubik’s cubes with Allen and Tommy, and though Elvin screwed up and had to redo it, I still lost. Yes, I suck, STFU and GTFO. After that, we did a little talk about our talent being procrastination, as we had plans for a swordfight/duel, then a video about making that fight, then…that. So yeah, we failed it there.

CSF picture sucked, I had no idea wtf to do, poor organisation, and other such shit because I thought that it was at the beginning of lunch instead of a bit in for some reason… @_@ damn poor communication. But yeah, it was done though, but crappy organisation.

I went to the library afterschool to borrow a book yesterday . To read. I can hear the “gasp” you’re all saying >>;. Small Gods by Terry Pratchett is quite the interesting read, I’ve gone through the half the book, and it actually entertains me. I suppose heavy vocabulary and “WTF IS GOING ON” really takes me off books. And feminism. >>;. School ruins books…
