Diluted Freedom

October 18, 2008

So, for the last week, my parents went to Florida for vacation. This was a week after they went to Las Vegas for two days or so, so a week and some worth of time at home alone. Which is wonderful, they didn’t bother me about staying up late, not sleeping enough, too much time watching TV or not doing homework or not eating on time, etc. And I can talk to myself without interruptions. He’s a lot better to talk to. After all, there’s no one to talk to, pretty much. So what have I learned?

I can’t cook omelets. I burnt the bottom of the one I tried to make, while the top was still liquid >>;.

I can make better buttered toast with the fry pan than the toaster. Butter is spread more evenly over the piece, on both sides.

I like being able to play music on the computer while I sleep.

TV is nice.

Unchecked anger leads to rage. Unchecked rage leads to violence. Unchecked violence leads to death.

Shoot ‘Em Up. WATCH IT. Wee, violence.

That is all for now.

Lunch Today

September 23, 2008

So, it’s a Tuesday, and Tuesdays are crap. After all, 10:30-9:30 in Oakland because of classes is shit. 4 hours between 2-6 is also pretty boring in Oakland. Today, I wandered around Chinatown looking for lunch, and then settled for Quiznos near the City Center place. I’ve got a good amount of weeks to take a look at other shit around the place for food, yeah? >>; After that, I took a colossal shit in their nice public toilet (hey, the seat wasn’t splattered with piss or shit, they had seat covers, AND TWO-PLY toilet paper (holy shit)), so it wasn’t too bad of a toilet. Only thing that sucked colossally was the fact that the toilet wasn’t too keen on flushing, so after my dirty deed it didn’t quite process it fully…>>;.

After that, I decided to go get some Jamba Juice for the hell of it (and I’m pretty sure the fiber wouldn’t hurt either >>;), then spent the rest of lunch wandering around the City Center area, then sitting in some courtyard in front of some nice government building. It was nice and breezy and shady and comfortable. Then I came to the Oakland Public Library Asian Branch (yeah…wonderful name >>;), and I’m now here, after an hour or so of sitting in front of the library at the fountain…that was pretty relaxing too.

Side effect of relaxation-my minority studies readings are NOWHERE near done. Oh well >>;. I still have that English essay to work shitloads on >>:. SHITLOADS. Reading my research is rather important, no? >>;

Listening to: Cerf, Mitiska, and Jaren-You Never Said. My big MP3 player’s run out of battery, so I’m listening to the small 128 MB backup. Both of them suck, for size reasons, battery life, and general “if you shake it slightly, it will stop playing/something else will fuck up”. I really would like a new one…

Gilgamesh

August 31, 2008

GIlgamesh was 2/3 god and 1/3 human. His parents must have either been quite kinky or gods have a very different breeding system than humans. He tames the wild man Enkidu by sending a temple prostitute to have sex with him for a week, and when the two get married, GIlgamesh comes in to demand sex with the bride. Those ancient Sumerians were very horny indeed >>;.

So for religion we have to read about the legend Gilgamesh. Or, at least a summary or such. And now to see what’s going to happen next in the class…

Today, I went with Elvin to Pier 39 to eat at that sea lion cafe place, because I liked the clam chowder there and the bread to dip in it. Sadly, no bread this time, although we did get oyster crackers to put into the chowder, which were good. I don’t know what makes them more oyster than normal crackers, but meh. I had some pasta, but it was rather…disappointing. There was a crapload of tomato bits in it, more than I cared for. Afterwards, we left for Chinatown since I was misinformed by my mother that there would be street festival there, and we were interested in free shit. The walk there was a bitch, there many, many hills >>;. I wish they could just chop the hills off and drop them into the bay >>;. On the way there I saw one of those nice public toilets in San Francisco, now they clean themselves apparently. They used to cost 25 cents to use, but it seems it’s free now. However, there was some dude in there taking a forever, so I decided not to use it. I was wondering if he was really pissing or crapping >>;. So we reached Chinatown, but no free shit, so we just went to the park so I could use bathroom. Elvin apparently saw a triangular penis in there and was put off severely by it >>;. After Elvin’s trauma, we went to look for Ramune, failed, and opted for Jamba Juice and Borders at that mall place. It was a good day, but I’m tired as fuck. Still have English and religion work to do though ><.

The Week in Review

May 30, 2008

I have been quite lazy this week! Spending lots of time playing Age of Empires III and watching ‘Allo! ‘Allo!, bad Gary >>;.

Monday was Memorial Day. I stayed at home, procrastinated, and rushed my lab report in the dead of the night.

Tuesday I then was told that the lab wasn’t due until Thursday. This will probably be the only time you will find me having done my work before the night before it’s due >>;. But, work was done, which was surprising, and for the best, since I had an essay to do that night from Gov, some stupid DBQ about the First Amendment in the school environment. However, I didn’t check if my lab completely printed out correctly. I think I may have run out of colour ink, as my graph didn’t come out ><. I had to reprint the graph at school…*sigh*

So Tuesday was the last concert of the year, last concert for the class seniors, and as Mr. Glover the conductor is retiring, his last as well. So, while I was planning on going home with Richard to work on the magazine, I didn’t, since we kind of volunteered (well, more like Mr. Doan volunteered us, but we were fine with it) to help the other kids finished up the gel electrophoresis lab. So we helped destaining the gels, and ended up staying there until the concert. I put trance onto the nice sound system Doan has, and that was awesomeness. Then, Richard and I met with Elvin downstairs, then went to the concert. It was doubtless awesome. I strongly liked the St. Paul song, The Nearness of You, i believe, which was a jazzy piece the orchestra played, and some song with some red rose and “Luve”, which had an awesome violinist kicking ass >>;.

After the concert, Richard and I stayed behind, picked up recyclables, and forgot our stuff in Elvin’s car while he went to drop off Serene home >>;. And, he forgot to turn his phone off silent. Awesome time I had having to go home, IM him, then have him come over so I could claim my stuff and guide him to Richard’s place. While Richard’s parents were pissed off, mine I think were too tired to care >>;. But, it wasn’t too bad for me, Elvin drives awesomely, and AC/DC came on the radio with HIghway to Hell! Overall, I had a better time at that night than I did prom night >>;. I have to say, the choice of music that night was MUCH more preferable to the stuff I heard at prom. While Daft Punk and What is Love are awesome songs, that’s only two songs. A night’s worth of trance and classical stuff beats the shit out of the rest of the night >>;.

Wednesday, we finished off the lab, were confused where the bands end and begin (I think I saw more than they did, but they only saw three, and I thought we needed more…well shit >>;). Then I ripped the gel apart, woo! >>;. Recycling also went smoothly, for the most part, there were lots of people this time!

Thursday, all was a blur. Probably wasn’t anything much important, yeah?

Friday, I came in REALLY late to second block >>;. Like, 10:15, say? And there, I did a whole lot of nothing >>;. I signed Ms. Larson’s picture of her 3rd block class (I think it was 3rd >>;) and a card for her. Then we went to visit Ms. Larson. She looked so much more happier and healthier. It has been quite a while since I have seen her. She forgot my name, thought I was “Paul”, Roger’s brother >>;. Great…I think she did that before as well >>;. I also collected a bunch of hours sheets…I was supposed to go to CSF, but eh, majority of the people were in Larson’s room anyways visiting, so I was able to get a good amount of them >>;.

During Gov, we had nothing to do. Elvin took the time to draw an epic picture on Smart’s blackboard, with some ideas from me and some drawing input from Richard. It looked…epic >>;.

After school, I went to Quiz Bowl. It had been quite a while since I went; the week before was prom, before that was other stuff, so it was about 3 weeks since I’ve been to a meeting. Sophia actually played in a game this time! And an older member came to visit as well. After that, I went to eat dinner at Hometown Buffet, for the Interact incentive dinner…I haven’t done much these past months, and I feel poorly for that, and somehow I still made it…>>;. I am thankful though that I was able to go, free food is always awesome, and I ate lots and lots and lots…the clam chowder was awesome though. And dipping bread into it was awesome as well. And the chicken and dumplings shit, I think dumplings are just bread >>;. But, it still was awesome. Salisbury steak was good, as well as the seafood macaroni salad. I came out quite full with a distended belly…while usually I am unable to eat very much at buffets because of my poor luck to be not very hungry when going, this time, I didn’t eat lunch and thus had the stomach for it >>;.

On a side note, I saw Mr. Clark right outside our banquet room eating alone. ;_; Where’s that Korean fiancee of his I remember him talking about? >>;

And now I’m here, being lazy, as usual >>;. I have a magazine project due this coming week on Monday. And shut up. It’s for the greater good >>;.

Solo

May 11, 2008

My English test was not assrape, no, not at all. That would be too generous a term. It was more along the lines of “rip you a new hole and rape you in that hole” rape, yay guro >>;. Here’s to a lucky 3 >>;.

Friday, we watched Casablanca in English. Black and white, it was an amusing film, not something I’d watch of my own volition though. But, there were Nazis, which I did not expect >>;. Nazis in films are…Nazis >>;. What’s ironic though is the lead lady, her name was Ilsa Lund or something to that effect? My mind goes to this film: Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS >>;. One’s running from the Nazi’s, the other is a Nazi…yes, why I know about that film is a mystery to me as well.

Today, I went to a Biology practice test at 9, did ok on my multiple choice, and failed hard on the essay. I didn’t read about embryo development, nervous system specifics, and evolution of the nervous system and shit. Then one essay questions talking about all three comes down and rapes me >>;. I hope that isn’t on the test…my essays have always brought me down though.

Afterwards, I decided to have a nice, leisurely walk home, listening to music. While it was sprinkling earlier, it is warm and windy outside, so that’s good walking weather. Mr. Doan saw me walking back and asked if I needed a ride, but I was fine, since I chose to walk myself; had I needed a ride, I could have called home. I decided to stop at KFC for lunch, reasoning that I probably would be too lazy to head over there on any future date >>;. Yay rationalisation >>;.

Is Shit

April 6, 2008

I’ve been very lazy, the past week has been pretty crappy. Coming back from break doesn’t help, you know. Then Wednesday I completely overslept until around 9:40, and figuring English was a lost cause, went back to sleep. Then I woke at 11 and thought that Gov was a lost cause decided to shower, eat, and then leave for Bio. Then Thursday there was and Invisible Man essay which I am confident I got a fail on that. And I decided not to show up for the seminar on Friday because I didn’t want to spend time on the questions. But I procrastinated on my biology lab report and had to miss third block unintentionally. It was senior cut day, so apparently there were only 8 people in English, so they had some spelling bee crap. Roger invited me to go eat with him and Brian at Elio’s, but I wanted to stay in bed, and at any rate, I still had work to complete. I regret not going… The only good part of the week was afterschool Friday, Quiz Bowl had really good attendance (aside from Liz missing, I wonder if its more than just a coincidence?). Afterwards, a bunch of Quiz Bowl people went to Joanne’s house to play Brawl, which was awesome. Of course, everything after that was pretty crappy.+

I have so much work too.

As it is

March 17, 2008

There’s been nothing much lately. Saturday I went to a middle school wrestling tournament to help time the matches; it ended later than expected, but I still walked home, after I ate some horrible horrible Chinese food from Chopsticks. I was hungry, I didn’t eat since dinner (which were some potstickers, so it doesn’t really count >>;), didn’t wake up for breakfast and didn’t have time for lunch before I had to head off. So I got home around 8:45, yay for walking around at night >>;.

Besides that, rather nothing much has happened. Except I’ve been feeling a tad shitty recently…but who knows why?

I did have a dream prior to writing this…I had a really big nosebleed/cut in the mouth or something, and blood didn’t seem to stop coming out…that’s a really delayed dream, isn’t it? I think that nosebleed episode in the mountains caused it. Other than that bit, most of it was really…blurry.

Young Emperor

February 28, 2008

I was waiting for my ride. As I waited, I saw a curious sight, two little kids, walking down the street. My eye for age isn’t much to say, so I couldn’t approximate further than “younger than high schoolers”. What I saw though was reminiscent of the emperor/sultan/rajah/ruler of some place close to the equator. One kid, who for some reason reminded me of Elvin’s little brother (perhaps he was? didn’t get a look at his face though) walking with a bottle of drink (7up/Sprite style bottle), neck sweating, in t-shirt and shorts. Behind him, fanning the other kid with a straw fan was a kid with a backpack, wearing a hoodie with his hood up, holding an umbrella in the other hand. Quite…servile. Such young kids, quite intriguing how such a dichotomy could arise…

So goes another day.

Names

February 23, 2008

This night, while on my computer utilising the internets, I heard a ruckus from out back behind the house. So, I opened the door to the backyard to get a better listen, and I heard a man loudly yelling out someone, incorporating profanity widely into his harangue. Disturbing thing is apparently this has happened before, or that’s what my parents told me. It feels dangerous to report such an occurrence…yet it feels wrong not to have reported it…

I would like to also take this chance to remind people that I have a name, and it’s Gary, and there is a reason why I say to call me by that name, because it’s my name. Accept no imitations. I like my name, and even if I were to change it, I wouldn’t rely on the snide suggestions of others that make a mockery of my name. And while we’re at it, let’s go over how to spell my name. It’s G-A-R-Y, simple enough? No “e”, only one “r” and it has no superfluous letters. It’s probably one of the easiest names to spell, how could ANYONE misspell it? Ugh.

English of course has been a continued failure, as today was the presentation on analysis of a character. Too many pauses, utterances, and unsureness instead of putting out fluent, sure sentences. Absolutely wonderful, no? I hope to death that there isn’t anymore of those up-front presentation things on a character or a book or something…

My eye’s been twitching again. That’s bad.

So that will be for now. But there’s more I don’t know how to deal with…

Dentist+Doctor

January 4, 2008

All in one, yesterday. I’d grit my teeth and bear with it were it not for the massive amount of dental implements coming out of my mouth for those fillings >>;. The fillings weren’t so bad though, it didn’t hurt, good think that numbing agent is so effective >>;. The drilling was the worst part, done with some small drill, gave me chills and such, but not painful, just really annoying numb sensation, that’s the most annoying part ><. I really must get down to work on it…

Break really ends MUCH too quickly, its two weeks, nice and long, yeah? Then ZIP, it’s all gone…T_T…the next big one is Spring Break, eh? Too many hurdles to leap over before then T_T.

Thinking about: Pearl Jam-Even Flow.
