Fuck Spiders

December 5, 2009

I had a bit of a creepy dream last night, involving spiders and bugs and such. More explicitly, three of them. HUGE spiders and I think one of them was a walking stick. Well, fine, they were not that huge to the point of cheesy mutant radioactive insect huge, but they were much larger than your average spider. I was in my old room in the middle, with pretty much how it was organized back then, with two beds and carpeting. For some reason, there was this huge spider that looked like it was constructed of grapes in my room. Its limbs looked like they were constructed of grape stems, and its body looked like two huge reddish-purplish grapes joined together. Bleh. I am still not put off eating grapes though, they are awesome tasty fruits. Not to mention easy to eat, because I am a slothful person. There also seemed to be another huge spider, but since it was in the dark closet, I don’t remember much about it. There was also a stick insect seemingly based off of a pen of sorts behind the filing cabinet in my room (that was kind of weird, since it was not in my room when I was in occupation of that room). I did not want to squish these bugs however, since they would make a huge, nasty, icky mess.  And then it crawled on my foot and I shrieked like a lady. Glorious, no?

I fucking hate spiders. Bleh.

Classes are over in general, just study week and finals to go, and then winter break. I was unable to turn in my last CS assignment for the unit, but whatever, just one assignment, right? >>; I hope to heavens I ace the finals. I actually got an A- for the piece of crap essay I pulled out for history somehow. I am amused…I might actually be able to get an A in History if I pull an A out for the exam somehow. I hope there is a map for identification, I love those things. I got full points on it last time! I also have to catch up for math, i.e. the last couple of weeks of lectures. I hate differential equations…

Ok, I am off to make many trades over the GTS now, yay! As you can see, I am failing at the studying for finals shtick.

November 25, 2009

The day before Thanksgiving, eh?

So today we went to the Botanical Garden again for evolutionary biology instead. I still hate the sun just as much as I did last time. I still hate the terrible terrain just as much as I did last time. I still hate the humidity in the tropical room just as much as I did last time. Anything different than last time? Well, now people know I collect my long nails. Which isn’t exactly a secret, is it? Oh, I also got to wear my hoodie as a cape again. Yay!

So I decided to cut math section. I just really didn’t feel like staying that damn long on the day before break. *sigh* Instead, I went back to Laney! Such nostalgia. >>; I had to get an official transcript which I should have gotten AGES AGO to report that I’ve finished English 1B to Berkeley. The damn thing is that the cashier closed early today so I couldn’t file and pay for the transcript, so now I have to come back Monday or  Tuesday or something. More fare, this sucks.

I got home, I wanted to add some money to my ticket, the machine ate my ticket when it froze when I tried to pay by card. Bullshit. There was a dude that hit me up for some money to get to Concord or something, I obliged because I was too lazy to deny him. Gave him like a 10 dollar ticket or something. Whatever, it’s cool.

My nose has been a bitch for the past couple days, something along the lines of nonstop stuffy nose. Ugh.

Yay, people are coming back for break!

Train Delay

November 18, 2009

Oh, so when it rains, it pours. The escalator at SL BART was still broken, but then not just that, but the train was delayed today, by 20 minutes or some bullshit. The train ended up to be way crowded going to Berkeley. A taste of Japan, eh? I didn’t get groped though. What an accomplishment. Also, on the train, I saw the woman with the HUGEST NOSE EVER. It was HUGE. Like XBOX HUGE. It stuck out like an inch from her face, and it was just HUGE. I cannot get over how HUGE it was. HUGE.

I spent the day really thirsty overall, despite having enough water. And I spent much of the day needing to go to the bathroom, despite being thirsty. So I’d go to the bathroom, and then soon enough I’d need to go again, despite the thirst. I did drink lots of water, but I was still thirsty. This is some real bullshit.

I need a retake for CS. My first retake. T_T I am an abject failure. Stupid careless mistakes. And so late in the semester, and I only have Wednesdays that I can go to the self-help center conveniently (and that is just a relative measure to other days). Fucking hell…

I did feel like I kicked ass on my math quizzes today though. That is a good thing. Despite not doing the homework for it. Which is a bad thing. But, quizzes count for more. Which is a good thing.

Essay due next Tuesday. Sucks balls, I have to say. I can only hope I won’t do that stupid thing where I don’t get any sleep at all before turning it in. *sigh*

Listening to: Capsule-Starry Sky. It is good. I don’t remember how I came across it, but I do know that Brian introduced me to them. I never did follow it up though. I am a lazy bastard.

My Stupidity Doth Exceed To a Level

November 5, 2009

Today, a maths test. I woke up at 4:45 instead of around 1 because apparently I didn’t set my phone alarm right. So of course I go “fuck”, and then proceed to play games until around 6. Oh yes, the wisdom of Gary Li, brilliant, no? >>;

So after cramming for half an hour, I shower, then cram in the car while my mum drives, then walk to class, cram in the the lecture hall, and then the test starts.

Surprisingly, I felt like I did relatively well! And we all know, that is a BAD thing, because things usually turn out opposite to my expectations, something like that. Well…fuck.

Right when I started the test, I noticed a couple people coughing. And a couple of sniffles. And then a whole torrent of little coughs and sniffles and sneezes that I COULD NOT DROWN OUT. For a good while, at least. Goddamn, it reminded me of that time when I couldn’t drown it out during that one AP test. I forgot which one, but damn is that not annoying.

I saw a GSI getting all huggy with the professor. Or at least, it looked like it, with the GSI having his own arm somewhat wrapped around his front, going upwards, and the professor standing on the elevated stage, leaning over to the GSI to listen. For a moment there it looked like the GSI was on the stage and grabbing the professor. And then the professor straightened up and it all made sense again. >>;

I need a new mouse. And some hair ties.

Late Night Television

October 10, 2009

I’ve been lazy, if you haven’t noticed. Of course you haven’t.

I should write about the past couple of months, but I don’t feel like it. Maybe later.

Instead, I’ll talk about tonight. My parents are staying at the other house to save gas and fix it up and crap. So, I took advantage of the opportunity. That’s right, I watched LATE NIGHT TELEVISION *fanfare and crap*. It’s really not that impressive, I know, but it’s got some crazy ass crap going on during the late night.

There are still kids shows running on PBS Kids. Granted, it is PBS KIDS, they’ve nothing more to show, but really, what kid would be up at this time watching? What kid should be up at this time watching? >>;

Pee Wee Herman was on MTV, or so it seemed. Personally, this is my first exposure to actually seeing Pee Wee Herman. I was flipping through channels and I saw him, and breakfast was being prepared by preposterous contraptions to the tune of “Breakfast Machine”, which I know from hearing it on the Internet. Appropriately titled, no? I figured this was MTV, this must be some surreal music video, albeit to a song that I doubt would be attracting of MTV’s target audience, until I saw the license plate on his bike “Pee Wee Herman”. And then it all clicked together that there was a plot, it was a show of some sort, and now I am left with “why the fuck would MTV be showing Pee Wee Herman?” Granted, 3:00 isn’t exactly a time most people would be watching, but still…

Superjail is really really really surreal and shit. What the fuck.

Reno 911! How crude. Exactly in my taste. Which reminds me, I’ve yet to watch Bruno, apparently it offended the bulk of the people I know that have watched it. Seeing as I’m a terrible person that doesn’t get particularly offended by most things, I’ll have to see just how offensive it is in the future…

Infomercials, their products are somehow made to look SO DAMN ATTRACTIVE. That is their purpose, yes, but still, no way in hell would they look so good if they didn’t have at least a semblance of working so well as shown in the infomercial. *sigh* Reminds me of this Achewood strip. OH, I also saw Slap Chop, on the TV, in the main! Vince Offer going “you’ll love my nuts”, lovingly rendered by an HDTV whose specs I know absolutely nothing about except it’s way huger and crisper than Youtube videos have ever shown up before (can’t say for the future though).

I’ve begun playing Battle Moon Wars again, goddammit. I see Melty Blood Actress Again videos, want to play that game, but it’s not out for PC anytime soon, so I settle for getting Melty Blood Act Cadenza up and running again. That being unsatisfying because I suck camel balls at fighting games, I went to Battle Moon Wars. *sigh* Not to mention, I’ve been getting into Platinum. Deep into Platinum. I beat the Elite 4 last morning before I went to bed. >< And with all this, my school work gets screwed over, terrible terrible me, yes?

The seasonal cough is back again! Fuck you, chronic bronchitis (which I assume is what’s afflicting me, thank Elvin for suggesting it).

Mmkay, I’m tired now, I’m off to bed. Maybe tomorrow I might blog about school. Maybe I won’t. Tune in tomorrow to find out! Same fail-time, same fail-channel!

Walking Tours

July 15, 2009

This is a poem
I decided to write
But nah, I don’t want to
Fuck you

With that aside, today I went on some walking tour of Oakland’s Uptown, since my English teacher loves her walking tours, and I don’t know what’s up with it, but so  the class went to the tour. They discussed the Art Deco architechture of the area, including the Paramount Theatre, Fox Theatre, and various other buildings. Elvin went too, since I wanted company and it was right after his class. So, I got to hang out with him the day before he leaves for SD with his family and I will go deep in my hole to be reclusive, unless someone would like to drag me out screaming bloody murder. Isn’t that an exciting prospect? So, the tour was rather hard to listen to, since we were near the middle or back, and what with the cars and trucks and other noisy stuff in a busy city, the tour guide’s voice didn’t carry very well. But, apparently the colorful exteriors of Art Deco buildings were from glazed terra cotta tiles, which were apparently very hard to care for as the color would wear off or something to that effect. Obviously, built for looks, not built to last. The Fox Theatre was actually pretty interesting, apparently there were offices built right adjacent to the theatre that wrapped around the block to obscure the plain sides that the theatre would have (no windows, because theatres have to be dark, yeah?) and apparently wrapped around some school.

After all the Art Deco theatres and such, we walked down to the lake and admired Snow Park and the Schilling garden, once belonging to two rich dudes that lived in Oakland next to the lake. Yeah, I don’t know how Art Deco segues into gardens, poor listening skill here. After those, we went to the roof garden of the Kaiser Center (NOT Kaiser Permanente, there is a difference, apparently this Kaiser dude was a steel/concrete/aluminum/gravel/something magnate, built the building  to show off his materials and power and such). I thought it would be at the top of the skyscraper. Apparently, it’s only on top of the parking garage, which is substantially less impressive, but its a garden. On a roof. It still holds  that charm of “nature” being in a completely unnatural location. Also, there are trees there. What happens when the trees’ roots bust through the ceiling of the mall below? >>; For it’s location, it sure is a bitch to get to, apparently you have to go into the elevator for the garage and press RG for roof garden. You can’t reach it from the main Kaiser Building thing itself apparently. Confusing deal.

On our way to the lake, we saw “Oaksterdam University.” I do believe its a portmanteau of Oakland and Amsterdam. The school shield has “CAN-NA-BIS” on it. Charming, no? >>; Training for the cannabis industry, offered rather openly. The moar you know….

Afterwards, Elvin and I went to eat at some cafe in Chinatown. Portions there were rather…lacking in girthiness. *sigh*

A couple of days ago, I decided  to wear my hair in pigtails, because I needed to keep hair out of my face after shower, and I had the time to experiment for stupid’s sake.  And so, why the fuck not ? Goddamn pigtails are hard, I completely fail at them. Elvin has photos of me failing. Isn’t that wonderful? >>;

MY PENCIL AGGGGHHHHHH

May 5, 2009

My pencil just fell on the floor. This wouldn’t be such a big deal, except I’m on third floor…and the pencil is somewhere on first floor or below it because I’m sitting right next to some rail in Stanley Hall where it’s overlooking the first floor. It just fell right off third and plummeted down…and it’s my only good pencil ><. Now, I will have annoying trouble finishing the crossword. It’s already hard to solve the crossword because they decided to omit the down clues for the first couple of rows >>;. Brilliant, no? I’m pretty sure it would have been easy enough with the down clues, but hey, it’s another challenge.

I’m eating Townhouse crackers. They are some awesomely buttery and flaky crackers. Sadly, I’m down to my last roll of them, so I need to get more.

So, I winged the presentation for the Chem 1A reserach project. I really should have put a hand into the physical creation of the poster…I am horrible, no? There was some crap I would have wanted to alter on the poster, but it’s too late to do crap about it, oh well. It was pretty much a huge poster board covered in duct tape and silvery grey spray paint, simple and logical. I totally assumed that duct tape bonded with London dispersion forces and gave up looking any further beyond the Handbook of Adhesion. I did not think there would be so much work done on adhesion and tapes and such…but the articles rarely refer to “duct tape” or any sort of tape specifically, just “pressure senstive tapes.” And for some reason, the pdf articles from the Handbook couldn’t be searched with Acrobat Reader. That is loads of fail right there, loads of pure fail.

And now that the essays and the projects and the presentations and such are over, I get to study for finals…I need to wrap my mind around electrochemistry, actually take a look at the math problems that I’ve neglected for the last couple of weeks, remember my British history, etc. etc. The end is coming in so soon, but it still feels like there’s more, there isn’t a sense of “year is over”, unlike high school, I don’t think.

And summer, I will be failing English 1B, more essays and fail WOOOOO. I will also visit Elvin and Jennifer and Charles and SD right after my last finals, and I am looking forward to…the food >>;.

Final Wishes, I Guess, Meh

April 24, 2009

I want a headstone, but I don’t want to be buried. I want to be donated to science! Maybe they can make something cool out of my body, like those displays at Body Worlds what with the preserved corpses playing basketball and skateboarding out of their skin >>;. However, I still want a headstone, with something witty and funny on it, perhaps. I want people in graveyards to pass by, read what it says, laugh a bit, and then feel guilty about laughing in a graveyard >>;. Is that even allowed, to only have a headstone without ashes/corpse buried?

And for the hell of it, let’s fuck around with polling shit!

Why do I dwell on this rather negative subject? Oh, I was just reading this quote database, quotes of fundamentalist Christians, here. They do say rather…amusing things, among others. Other times they say rather atrocious things. I read one talking about atheist funerals, and there was one dude that wanted to get donated to science in the comments. And of course, that got me to thinking about the above! Of course, that hopefully will be a good couple tens of years away, hmm?

And what should I be doing instead? I have a presentation for evolution seminar due Monday, 6 page history paper due Wednesday, and a Chem 1a research project due the Tuesday after next. It’s all coming down, and crap if I’m not working hard! I really should get to work…

Oh, and finally the dvd of Casiopea vs The Square Live finished, there weren’t any seeds for over a month, but finally some appeared. I also ordered Samurai Shodown anthology, which I have been waiting for a while so I can finally try out the 6th game, it looked very enticing in the Youtube videos. I just have to wait until all this crap blows over so I can finally go to Walmart to pick my order up and enjoy it…

Tuesday Afternoon

March 31, 2009

I go to my table on 3rd floor, I pull out my crossword, I fall asleep because of exhaustion, wake up to find my hands have fallen asleep, shake them out, drink some water, and then go back to sleep resting on one arm instead of two. I then proceed to alternate arms when one falls asleep. And that was my afternoon for 3 hours or so. I didn’t get crap done. So tonight I study for my history midterm.

Spring break was wonderful, I got to hang out with Elvin and Richard and Charles and Shannon and I can’t think of much more…small group, yeah. I went to SF and Berkeley and Target and SLHS and Richard’s house and so, nothing much out of the ordinary. Well, beyond the fact that I’m going out for nonacademic reasons and social reasons. And now, back to my crosswords and my hole and my classes and Berkeley.

And I really need to start the process of sending in my MP3 player…

Some Berkeley Stuff

March 11, 2009

Damn, I hate it when I feel like I forgot something that I remembered earlier to do that I forgot even earlier.

Large line of people waiting down Bancroft today, no idea what that was about. I’m rather out of touch with everything.

So, while I sat outside 4 Evans waiting for Math discussion to start, I was reading the Rape of Lucrece by Thomas Heywood for English History. Rat bastard wasn’t famous enough when he was alive or dead, so Sparknotes doesn’t have his play all nice and accessible to the everyday John Doe >>;. Moreover, Shakespeare wrote a poem with the same title as well, which DOESN’T HELP, NO. But hey, it’s actually not as bad as I thought it would be, it was rather digestible. I might actually finish reading this piece, it’ll be awesome if I do >>;.

While sitting outside 4 Evans, there was some Korean dude using his laptop. How’d I know he was Korean? He spoke what presumably was Korean on the phone, and it didn’t sound like the other stuff that he most likely might have been >>;. He was also clicking rapidly with the mouse. I’m guessing Starcraft >>;. So very stereotypical, how horrible of me >>;.

I got a B on my first paper for English History! I am very happy with it >>;. I thought I would do worse. Naturally.

Oh, and happy birthday Elvin!
